King John’s House

Located in the heart of Romsey, King John’s House and Museum offers a fascinating exploration of the town’s rich heritage through three unique historic buildings. In February 2025, a major fire caused extensive damage to the site. The Trust has embarked upon a significant restoration and renewal project to bring King John’s House back from the ashes.
The Field Club has contributed to the restoration fund and the Society has been invited to examine the journey to restore and preserve this treasured piece of Romsey’s history.
Meet at King John’s House, Church Street, Romsey, SO51 8BT on Wednesday 29 July at 1400. (There is parking for cars nearby in the town.) There will be a tour of the building and briefing upon the restoration progress. Tea will be available in the café on completion. Due to limits on space, the maximum number for this visit is 30 so you are requested to reserve a place using the Ticketsource link below.There is no charge for the visit.
