Celebrating Hampshire Historians is an overview of the historiography of Hampshire including the activities of its scholars of all kinds – some obsessive, some eccentric, some brilliant, but all curious.
It’s also a useful reference book for professionals, including archivists, librarians and museum curators, with detailed accounts of the lives and works of the historians and archaeologists, assessments of their contributions, a chronological list and a comprehensive 13-page index.
Published by the Hampshire Field Club & Archaeological Society in response to a call from the Institute of Historical Research of the University of London for projects to mark its centenary in 2021.
