Archaeology Section

2024 Annual Conference & AGM:

'An elegant building, a statue (head) and the legacy of World Wars: Varied aspects of today's Archaeology'

Saturday 16th November from 9:50am, at the Hampshire Record Office.

Provisional Programme:

  • James Brown, National Trust with Geoff Buss – Hinton Ampner House

  • Phil Smither, Berkshire FLO – the Berkshire Roman Head

  • Graham Scott, Wessex Archaeology – ‘Any old iron’ - the discovery, recovery and rebirth of an extinct historic aircraft

  • Gareth Owen, New Forest National Park – D-Day in the New Forest

  • Richard Osgood, Defence Infrastructure Organisation – Imber and Rat Island

Lunch: Local hostelries provide good food, otherwise please bring a packed lunch. Part of the Record Office will be set aside for the consumption of brought lunches.

Cost for attending is £20 for Hampshire Field Club members, £25 for non-members. Morning and afternoon tea and coffee are included in the price.
