Local History Section Spring SymposiumHampshire County GovernmentDate: Saturday, 20th April 2024, 9.30 am - 4.15 pmEverybody in Hampshire and every community, place, village, parish, manor and town were subject to and directed by the officers of the county. They feature in the records of county inhabitants and hence in the National Archives. Of course each place was different but there are more similarities than differences than at first appear in one's own research. Restricting oneself solely to the most local records is to miss the county dimension. This conference explored what the county had to offer us.
